Vienna Festival |

| Vienna festival takes up rather a long period of time from May 11th till June 19th and is without a doubt one of the highlights of the city’s life. Various venues all around the city host thirty-two theatre and music productions and 165 performances from various world countries such as Canada, Denmark, Bosnia, India, France, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan and Israel. Just like in its previous years, this year’s event is directed by Luc Bondy. As for the festival’s highlights, they are: Patrice Chéreau and Pierre Boulez's new production of Leos Janácek's opera From the House of the Dead (based on writings by Dostoyevsky), and a choice of Shakespeare’s dramas. |
