| This is not for you. Sculptural Discourses is an exhibition at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary hall opened till the end of March. The subject for the exhibition is rather a complicated one. It actually shows how sculpture, assemblage and installation practice can change with time and thanks to social, political and cultural changes. As a result, these forms of art not only show modern artistic conceptions, but express the changes in society. All the works are presented for the first time and are taken from the Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary collection. Still, they are not aimed to show any particular aesthetic tendencies. It shows various sculptural possibilities that came to life thanks to active work of thought as well as lots of practice. Among the artists represented are AI WeiWei, Davide Balula, Fiona Banner, Monica Bonvicini, Chen Qiulin and many others. Opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday, from 12.00 until 6.00 pm. |
