| Already on November 18, the city of Vienna started its Christmas campaign, which will last till December 24 (Christmas Eve). On these days, you are able to visit a Christmas market as well as The Magic of Advent event with lots of entertainment for you and your children. The market is held on the Rathausplatz, the Vienna City Hall, and offers you to taste traditional food including cotton candy, glazed fruits and baked apples, buy traditional presents, such as wooden handicrafts and simply enjoy the holiday atmosphere, with its beautiful Christmas trees, lots of candles and decorations. Next to the Rathaus shopping mall, at Rathauspark, your children can ride a pony, enjoy the miniature railway or an old-fashioned merry-go-round. Also, in Volkshalle of Vienna's City Hall, you can visit the present-making and cookie-baking workshops. The market is opened daily, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. |
