| Starting October 29 and till November 25, there will be Wien Modern 2006 – Festival of Contemporary Music taking place in Vienna. Found by Italian conductor Claudio Abbado in 1988, this festival has become a popular event, which attracts about 13,000 visitors annually. The festival offers you to see a number of excellent concerts, know more about most recent music developments as well as gives artists a chance to show their abilities in Modern Dance, new visuals, texts and film. The festival’s venues are different – for instance, one of the highlights this year is the performance by the Ensemble Intercontemporain in Hall E of MuseumsQuartier. Also, you will see two-act musical theater work “I hate Mozart” at the Theater an der Wien and Gyorgy Kurtag performance who will present his own compositions together with his wife Márta. The special event for the young ones is “Dschungel Wien Modern” which will take place daily at Konzerthaus. |
