German Expressionism exhibition at the Leopold Museum |

| Today, October 16th, is the first day for the exhibition of German Expressionism at the Leopold Museum in Vienna, which will be opened till January 10th. The exhibition will include a wide range of high-standard paintings by different authors, who represent various directions and groups within this artistic style. All in all, there will be about 130 works, including 50 oil paintings and 80 drawings, prints and watercolours, and also several sculptures on display. Among the artists, you will be able to view the works of Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Karl Schmidt-Rottluff, Ernst Heckel, Max Pechstein, Otto Mueller, Emil Nolde, representatives of the Munich group "Der Blaue Reiter", such as Franz Marc, Wassily Kandinsky, Alexej von Jawlensky and August Macke, individualist Lyonel Feininger and Otto Dix, Georg Grosz and Max Beckmann. Many of the paintings are from Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection. At the same time, the Leopold Museum is celebrating its 5th anniversary. |
