Viennale film festival |

| From 13 till 25 October, visit an important movie event in Vienna called Viennale film festival, which attracts about 65,000 visitors every year. The festival was first organized in 1960 and since then, has presented many famous films, including Truffaut's Les quatre cents coups, and Kurosawa's The Hidden Fortress. Viennale is not a competition, though a lot of prizes are given by a five-person jury. It presents a wide variety of films, from local to international, from classical to modern avant-garde and from documental to short. This year, as usually, the films of the main programme will be presented in several Austrian cinemas, which are proud of their unique atmosphere and wonderful charme: Metro, Gartenbau, Kunstlerhaus, Urania and Stadtkino. At the same time, the films of the VIENNALE-Retrospective VARDA/DEMY will be screened at the Filmmuseum. The prices are various. |
