Vienna Literature Festival |
 |
| A real “must” for those who are fond of literature is the Vienna Literature Festival which takes place during September at the Burgtheater - one of the most important theatres in Europe and the second-oldest theatre after the Comédie Francaise, which doors are still opened for the public. The festival is in fact an important European event in the sphere of literature, which in 1996 received the Financial Times Business and the Arts Award. Why is it so popular with the tourists? Probably, because it creates the feeling of adventure in your head, while you listen to the authors presenting their stories just like they must be. The best Austrian authors will read parts of their works non-stop on Friday and Saturday, while the German-language classics will present new works. Also, writers will take questions and communicate with their readers. The festival is also available on Friday from 4pm to 12am. The entrance is free. |
