| If you like the novel “Rebecca” by Daphne du Maurier, you will also like the musical based on this book. This mysterious and romantic story will be premiered September 6th at the Raimund Theater. The main roles are played by a popular musical star Uwe Kröger and Wietske van Jongeren. “Rebecca” is a story of a young girl who falls in love with an English gentleman and marries him only several days later. Together they go to Maxim’s mansion in Manderley, but the reception there is rather hostile. Later on, it turns out that the whole house is filled with the spirit of Maxim’s ex-wife, Rebecca. The book is considered to be one of du Maurier’s best works. In 1940 Alfred Hitchcock used the story to shoot a film starring Sir Laurence Olivier und Joan Fontaine.
